Shake That Smoothie Up!!

Ice creams will be on everybody's tables this holiday and beyond but you can make your ice cream healthy by making ice cream smoothies or just alternating them for smoothies.

Fruit smoothies provide essential vitamins and minerals. It is an easy way to nourish and energise the body. It can help you reach your recommended intake of fibre and fruits.

They can be used as food replacement if you want to lose weight or take them in between meals if you want to gain weight.

Smoothies improve digestion and you don't have to go through the stress of chewing. It strengthens your immune system and makes you sleep deeper.

Smoothies can be taken at anytime and anywhere. They can be used in place of sweets and unhealthy foods when you crave for some sugar. After I started my blog, I tried taking fruit smoothies and I fell in loveee.

The fun part is creating your own smoothie and exploring other fruits and vegetables you love. You can also detoxify your body by adding kale and dandelion to your smoothies.

Making ice cream smoothies can be fun as you make them with your kids and get them nourished. Any flavor of ice cream and any fruit can be used only some taste better than the other.

Here is a fun ice cream smoothie you can make together; I call it the MANCADO ICE CREAM SMOOTHIE. You need mango cubes, mashed ripe avocado, mango juice, vanilla yogurt(fat-free), 1tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice, honey(sweeten to taste) and ice cubes. Get all the ingredients in a blender and blast it up until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy.

To gain weight you need fruits that are high in calories and my go to smoothie contains banana, mango, avocado, peanut butter, vanilla yogurt or greek yogurt, milk and ice cubes. Blend them up and drink your way to gaining some pounds. Remember you are not taking them in place of meals but along or in between your meals.

A weight loss smoothie is the peach and banana smoothie. You need 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup fresh or frozen peach, ½ cup fresh pineapple juice, ½ cup frozen or fresh banana and 1 teaspoon coconut oil. Combine all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Voila! You are on your way to losing some pounds.

When making smoothie make sure the fruits are fresh and organic and your hands and blender are clean. Remember making your own smoothies are fun so shake things up and alternate them at times for your ice cream. Refrigerate your smoothies and they can only last for two days.
